 COVID-19 Antigen & PCR Test FAQs 

Omega Medical Services Ltd is now offering the COVID-19 Antigen Test and PCR Test for both locals (Jamaicans) and non-locals (tourists). 

What is the cost for the test?

 

  • JMD$7000 for locals-Antigen 
  • USD$50 for tourists- Antigen 
  • USD$280-PCR 

What are the locations that the testing will be done?

 

Negril

  • CocoLaPalm Seaside Resort Hotel (Parking lot)
  • Omega Medical Centre, Negril.

Montego Bay

  • Omega Medical Centre, Ironshore 
  • The partnered resorts 

Discovery Bay/Runaway Bay

  • Curbside- Ultimate Jerk Centre parking lot 

Ocho Rios

  • The partnered resorts 
  • Curbside- Ultimate Jerk Centre parking lot 

What days and times are testing done?

 

  • Mondays to Fridays 

Morning- 9:00AM-12:00PM 

Afternoon-3:00PM-5:00PM 

  • Saturdays 

10:00AM-3:00PM 

When can an appointment be made?

 

  • Appointments are made Mondays to Fridays 
  • 9:00am-4:00pm 
  • Antigen Tests- appointments can be made a day before travel 
  • PCR Tests- appointments should be made 72 hours in advance

How long does the results take?

 

  • ANTIGEN-Results are within 15 minutes and certification will be ready in 8 hours and sent to patient’s email 
  • PCR- Results are within 24-48 hours and will be sent to the patient’s email 

What is required for registration?

 

  • Full name (as shown in passport) 
  • D.O.B. 
  • Age 
  • Email address 
  • Telephone # 
  • Address 
  • Country of Residence 
  • Gender 
  • Collection Site (Negril, Montego Bay, etc.) 
  • Hotel name 
  • Arrival and Departure Date 

What is the procedure to get the test done?

 

  • Call to make and confirm appointment date, time and location 
  • Present passport upon arrival to confirm booking 
  • Make payment (CASH or credit card-4% service charge) 
  • ALL PAYMENTS ARE FINAL AND NONREFUNDABLE 
  • A credit card authorization form will be sent via email to make payment prior to appointment. 
  • Collect receipt and have test done 
  • Results will be sent to patient’s email 

What if the test result is positive?

Omega Medical will be following the Ministry of Health protocol which is for the guest to be sent back to his/her hotel room or place of residence immediately for isolation after which the Ministry of Health will be contacted and the case turned over to them. o The hotel will collect completed forms and submit to Omega Medical by 3:00pm each day for the following day 

  • A designated area will be used to administer the tests at each partnered resort 
  • Payments will be made as per the service contract 
  • Results will be sent to patient’s email
